Samantha Dennis

Samantha Dennis was born on November 24, 1978, to the union of Everda and Stonewall Dennis Sr. in St. James, Louisiana. Samantha accepted Christ at a very young age and was baptized at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in St. James, Louisiana, by Reverend Charles Geason Sr.

A lifelong resident of St. James, Samantha found joy in the simple pleasures of life and in being surrounded by the people she loved. She had a playful spirit and was known to indulge in a little innocent mischief from time to time, often giving those around her something to laugh and smile about. Samantha especially enjoyed family gatherings, where she could eat good food, laugh, dance, and simply enjoy being in the company of her loved ones. She also loved spending time sitting on the porch, watching the comings and goings of the neighborhood and taking in the world around her. Her familiar presence, playful personality, and the joy she found in simply being with family will be deeply missed.

Samantha departed this earthly life and entered into eternal glory on August 7, 2026.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Randell Dennis; grandson, Chase Dennis; sisters, Jacqueline Young, Zena Young, and Gloria Dennis; brothers, Lester (Andrea) Simon and Clifton Dennis, all of St. James, Louisiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives, and friends.

Among those who held a special place in Samantha’s final journey were her nephew, Clifton Simon; nieces, Dana Jupiter, Shannon Young, and Francis Spencer; and dear friend, Debra Johnson, who lovingly and faithfully cared for her during the final season of her life. Their compassion, devotion, and presence provided Samantha with comfort, dignity, and love, and their care will forever be remembered with heartfelt gratitude.

Samantha was preceded in death by her parents, Stonewall Dennis Sr. and Everda Dennis; sisters, Linda, Alice, Gail, Brenda, and Danielle; brother, Stonewall Dennis Jr.; nieces, Kanesha and Tameka; and nephews, Dwayne and DeVante’.

Samantha’s Celebration of Life will be held at Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Highway, Gramercy, Louisiana 70052, on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Darrell C. Jupiter officiating.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery, 5030 Highway 18, St. James, Louisiana 70086.

Final care has been entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Highway, Gramercy, Louisiana 70052.
