Celebrating the Life of Jermoul Dennis

Jermoul Dennis was born on December 12, 1970, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Otis Kenner, Sr. and Dorothy Dennis. He was raised in New Sarpy, Louisiana, and later moved with his mother and siblings to Kenner, Louisiana, where many of his formative years were spent. On December 5, 2025, Jermoul peacefully departed this life surrounded by the love and presence of his devoted wife, his mother, and cherished family and friends.

Jermoul received his early education through the Jefferson Parish School System and earned his high school diploma in 1995. A man of determination and purpose, he went on to achieve many professional accomplishments throughout his life. In 1999, he obtained a certification in Electronics while working for Textron Systems. He later attended Louisiana Tech University, where he trained in MIG welding and 2G/3G joint welding. Continuing his passion for learning and teaching, Jermoul attended Delgado Community College and, in 2011, earned his certification as a Welding Instructor.
In 2011, following the desire of his heart, Jermoul pursued a new path by enrolling in Coastal Truck Driving School to further his career in trucking. He proudly became an owner-operator and the founder of J. Dennis Transportation LLC, embracing the independence of being his own boss and the open road he so deeply loved.

In 2002, Jermoul married the love of his life, Lakeshia, and together they shared a bond rooted in love, loyalty, and companionship. In 2004, he was baptized at Faith Praise and Deliverance Temple under the leadership of his brother, Bishop Otis Kenner, Jr. In 2023, Jermoul united with Victorious Life Family Worship under Apostle Renita Graber, continuing his walk of faith.

Jermoul leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife, Lakeshia W. Dennis; his loving mother, Dorothy Dennis Ragland, and stepfather, Cornell Ragland; his five children, Jermeka Collins, Byron Martin, Jr., Diamonique Washington, Diamond Washington, and DaLijah Dennis; and his eight grandchildren, Jazmine, De’Ryan, Honesty, Ja’Mia, Amiani, Alonie, Bailee, and Dream.

He is also survived by his brothers, Bishop Otis (Tyra) Kenner, Jr., Chadwick (Felicia)
Dennis, and Shedrick Kenner; his sisters, Danielle Kenner and Odie (Roy) Murphy, Jr.; his
brother-in-law, Michael Washington, Jr.; his father-in-law, Michael (Geraldine) Washington,Sr.; his beloved godchild, Paris Washington; along with a host of extended family members and friends.

Jermoul loved spending time with his family, especially with the love of his life, Lakeshia. He had a deep passion for truck driving and took pride in the work he did. Known affectionately by some as “Mr. Red Bottoms,” Jermoul was admired for his impeccable fashion sense and personal style. He was a fun-loving spirit with an infectious smile—one that could light up any room and leave a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Jermoul’s legacy of love, laughter, faith, and perseverance will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
