The Life and Legacy of Reverend Adam Landry

Psalm 1:1-3
King James Version
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

2 Timothy 4:6-8
King James Version
6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Yes, these scriptures describe Reverend Adam Landry and the nature of his life.

Reverend Adam Landry fought the good fight of faith. For on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 3:47 p.m. at the age of 84, he heard in the distance, Servant of God, Well Done! You have watched thou in all things, endured afflictions, you have done the work of an evangelist, you have made full proof of thy ministry.

On July 21, 1941, Adam Landry was born to the parentage of the late Rev. Ernest Landry and the late Ernestine Victor Landry. He was the fifth child of ten children. Growing up under the divine direction of Christian parents, Adam Landry prayed, was converted, and baptized in 1956 by the late Rev. Ernest Landry at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church of St. James, Louisiana.

As a chosen vessel, in 1957, he received the call to preach the unadulterated word of God. Reverend Adam Landry was ordained on June 28, 1964 by the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He served as an associated minister of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the pastorship of his father, Rev. Ernest Landry, and an associated minister of the Peaceful Zion Baptist Church under the pastorship of his brother, Rev. Walter Landry, Sr.

Reverend Adam Landry was married to Sandra Fleming Landry for thirty-five wonderful years. He was also the proud father of five biological daughters and one step-daughter. He was educated in the St. James Parish Public School System.

Rev. Landry was a member of the New Orleans Carpenter's Local Union since 1966. His Carpenter's career covered thirty-seven years of pride and dedication. He has been a blessing to his family (whom he loved dearly) during his Carpenter's career. But the greatest project that he has ever worked on, "The Centerpiece of his thirty-seven years career" is and always will be the architecture designing and building of the Peaceful Zion Baptist Church of St. James, Louisiana on Old Mills Road. He built the church at the request of his late father, Rev. Ernest Landry after having received the approval of the Lord God Jehovah. The building of the Peaceful Zion Baptist Church is his statement to the world, as to how he feels about his God- The Lord God Jehovah who has immensely blessed him.

Reverend Adam Landry became a member and an associate minister of the Highway Baptist Church family in July 2020 under the pastoralship of Rev. Wesley Brown. Rev. Landry's health began to fail and his footsteps were getting a little shorter. In January 2023, he remained a humble servant under the pastorship of Reverend Dr. Charles Oatis, Sr. of this the Highway Baptist Church, where he continued steadfast in the faith, until God called him to his Eternal Home.
