Obituary

“A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticket closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24

On April 17, 2020, at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner,LA, Bro. Wendell Reuben Dorsey was called home to rest.

Wendell was born August 20, 1964 to the late Oscar Dorsey Sr. and Jearlean Bolden Dorsey. He was the sixth born of 8 children. Wendell graduated from Hahnville High School in 1984. He was baptized by the Reverend Saul W. Harris at St. Mary Baptist Church in Luling.

Wendell leaves to cherish his memories two children; Jeremiah and Abigail Dorsey of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Avis Lorio; five brothers; Dennis, Oscar Jr., Tyrone, Lydell, and James; three Aunts, Wandra Hardy, Lydia Bolden, and Julie Ann Bolden; one Uncle, Henry Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Dorsey Sr., and Jearlean Dorsey and sister Sheila Dorsey .

Wendell was kind, helpful and dependable with a smile that could light up a room. Many people in the neighborhood entrusted him to repair their vehicles. He was an experienced mechanic and very passionate about building and repairing cars. When asked he would work diligently to repair vehicles for friends and very seldom charged them and for his services. On most weekends you would find him at the race track watching races and gaining knowledge from competitors so he could one day compete against the best in the area.

Best Paw Paw Micah could have. Going to miss spending the holidays together as well as watching karate movies(especially Bruce Lee), playing with the millions of toys you always gave Micah and the unconditional love you’ve shown us all as well. We love you always. Harvey, Ashanti and Micah
