Obituary for Lucille H Bryant (Baker)

Lucille "Lou" Baker Bryant was born on May 5, 1957 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Lucille and James Baker, Sr. She departed this life to a new and glorious life on April 25, 2020 at the age of 62.

She was the wife of Roderick D. Bryant and loving mother of six children: three daughters the late Latanya Mclaughlin, Leona Boudreaux (Wayne), three sons David Mclaughlain Jr. (Chalacey), William Mclaughlin, Akeem Khaif. She also had a loving dog (poochie). Lucille had three adopted sons Gregory Rice, Carl(6/9) Quarella and Torey Scott. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to 14 grandkids David Mclaughlin III, Tylor Mclaughlin, Talor R. Gaines, Denzel Hawkins, Willnisha Jones, Etril Baker, Olivia Boudreaux, Christopher Mclaughlin, Jamiya Hightower, Jatiya Hightower, Keith Mosely; one great-grandson Keith Keith Mosley Jr. She also had one godchild Jessica Brown Johnson; one brother Carlis Dorsey; two sister Dorothy Brown and Linda Baker and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Lucille accepted the Lord and was baptized at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She attended L.B. Landry High School. She worked as a caregiver, housekeeper and was a great cook.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lucille and James Baker, Sr., brothers James Baker Jr. and Steven Roussell, sisters Maryann Gross, Emma Ford and Shirley Baker. Her children's father, Leroy Turner and David Mclaughlin, Sr.
