Obituary for Janet Marie Bossier

Janet M. Bossier daughter of the late Edward and Lillian Bossier, was born in Louisiana on September 13, 1954. She was baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard, Louisiana on October 3, 1954 by the late Rev. James B. Songy. Her parents, later moved to Hahnville, Louisiana where they became Parishioners of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Over the last 30 years, Janet’s ministry was allowing the congregation to listen to her pleasant voice as a Lector of the Church. She was a loving and caring mother to Derick Juan Bossier (Kelly) and grandmother to Erik Jordan Bossier and Nia Gabrielle Bossier of Wildwood, Missouri.

Janet graduated from Hahnville High School in 1973. She began her career with St. Charles Parish Public Schools at George Washington Carver Elementary School as the School Secretary. In 2004, the school merged with Luling Elementary and Janet continued her career where she retired as the School Office Specialist of Twenty- five and a half year of devoted and dedicated service. She was known by the students as Ms. Janet. Each day many students surrounded her desk, waited for her lovely presence and smile, but mostly for her words of encouragement and support. Her co-workers, who knew her as “J” was loved and trusted by the staff who enjoyed their many talks and laughs.

On Friday, January 22, 2021, Janet heeded to his call, as she heard a small tender voice say, “well done, my good and faithful servant,” as she departed her earthly life for her eternal home.

Joyful * Angelic * Nobel * Easy-going * Trustworthy (JANET), leaves behind her precious memories, her loving son, Derick Juan Bossier; daughter-in-law, Kelly; her two grandchildren whom she adored, Erik Jordan Bossier and Nia Gabrielle Bossier. Her devoted sisters and brother, Barbara Cornell (George), Patricia Bossier, Russell Joseph Bossier,
Sr., and Mona Bossier Bailey; her aunt, Delores Bossier, and her godchildren, Djuan “Mike” Williams and Devin Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Edward and Lillian Bossier, her brother Richard Dean Bossier and her godparents, Louis John Bossier and Mable Byrd.

A Mass of Christian burial in honor of her life will be held on Friday January 29, 2021 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1 Rectory Lane, Hahnville, La. 70057 at 11am. Viewing will begin at 9:00am. Entombment at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery. Final care entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services, 315 E. Airline Hwy Gramercy, La. 70052.
