“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;” Proverbs 3:5

Gina Marie Howard departed this life on April 18, 2020. She was the daughter of Cornell and Sharla Howard. Gina was the oldest of four daughters; Rechelle and Jasmine Howard of Edgard, and Tranell (Jason) Demery of Wallace. She was the proud aunt of Madison, Chance and Macy Demery. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Ama, LA.

Gina was a graduate of West St. John High School’s class of 1997. She was also a 2008 graduate of Camelot College. Gina loved working with children and teaching. She worked at Boutte Christian Academy for eight years. She talked about her students all the time. Gina was offered the opportunity to become a teacher at First Baptist WEE Center, and was eager about taking the position. In her spare time, Gina loved shopping, watching football, making pecan candy and spending time with family and friends. She was always smiling and so excited about life.

Gina is preceded in death by her grandparents Junius Sr., Lucille Howard, Evelyn Antonio, and Ellis Isaac.

Ms. Gina will truly be missed at the WEE Center. It was never a time where she wasn’t positive. She always found the good in a bad situation. Everybody that came in contact with her loved her. My nephew would leave his class just to be under Ms. Gina. It was never a goodbye at the end of the work day. It was always see you later Ms. NeNe. Gigi as her class would call her will be missed, it won’t be the same walking in the building and not seeing you smiling or laughing. See you later💙
