Obituary

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, Dolores Cutno-Sampson departed this earthly life at the age of 76 and entered the gates of heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived her life as a Christian Woman and by shining her light with her family and community.

Dolores was born on October 17, 1943 in New Orleans, LA to the Late Eddie Cutno, Sr., and the Late Lubertha Williams. Dolores was educated in the Orleans Parish School System and attended McDonald 35 High School. She furthered her education by also attending Phillips Jr. College.

Dolores was married to the late Willie Sampson, Sr. and they raised eight children: Minister Tanza Sampson, Elder Angela Sampson Grant (Bruce), Willie Sampson, Jr. (Deidra), The Late Eddius Abram Sampson, Maria Sampson Scott (Edward), David Sampson, Sr. (Roanne), Daryl Sampson (Angela), and Ron Sampson. She will never be forgotten by her brothers, Landon Johnson, Sr. (Alodia), and Eddie Cutno, Jr.

Dolores was the endearing Grandmother of (35) and Great Grandmother of (37). She taught them the Word of God and impacted their lives tremendously. She is also survived by (2) Godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Dolores faithfully attended Choice International Family Outreach Worship Center in LaPlace, Louisiana and served as the “Mother” of the church. She served under the mighty Prophet Antoine Jasmine and received her Doctor of Divinity Degree. She was a member of the Woman of Unity Team, The Intercessory Prayer Team, and The Evangelism Team. She was also a former member of Jessie Duplantis Ministries, where she served on the Prison Ministry. Dolores also served as a member of CASA of Louisiana.

Her life touched many and she was a mentor to the masses. This scripture depicts Dolores’ life and what she lived by, Psalm 34: 1-4 “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord. The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.”

There will be a Memorial Celebration in her honor at a later date.
