Obituary for Beverly Ann Frank (Clayton)

“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7

Beverly Ann Clayton, referred to by many as BC, was a loving mother, sister, aunt, wife, sister-in-law, friend, grandmother, and Godmother.

Beverly was a beautiful person who loved pretty clothing, and had a big, beautiful personality. She was friendly, joyful, generous, and full of life with a natural gift of gab. She was born to the union of Elsie Narcisse Clayton and Herman Clayton, Sr., the first born of five living children. Beverly attended elementary and high school at Cypress Grove in Lutcher, LA. After high school, she attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. She was baptized at an early age at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Paulina, LA.

On August 28, 1971, Beverly married her soulmate Ronald J. Frank of Reserve, LA, whom she was devoted to for fifty-one years. Initially they made their home in Reserve, but later moved to Laplace, LA. Beverly became a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she remained for fifty plus years. To their union was one son, Travis Jamel Frank and three grandchildren; Tanaya, Rashaun, and Tara Renee Frank. Bev loved everyone in her family, as well as her many friends. She would show you that love each time you saw her.

She was employed for many years at various companies- St. James Community Action, St. John Parish School System, Shell Chemical Company in Norco, LA for fourteen years, and recently retiring from St. John Parish President’s Office after 24 years. Some of Bev’s greatest joys were shopping, talking to everyone, traveling with her husband and the Crew of Agape, reading the newspaper, reading her bible, helping with her grandchildren, and staying connected to family and friends.

Left to celebrate Bev’s memory are her husband, Ronald J. Frank of Laplace, LA; son, Travis Jamel Frank of Laplace, LA; grandchildren, Tanaya, Rashaun, and Tara Renee Frank of Laplace, LA; siblings: Pastor Herman Clayton, Jr. (Monica) of Gonzales, LA, Kenneth Lee Clayton (Tahena) of Vacherie, LA, and Keresher Clayton of Atlantis, GA, Patricia A. Bourgeois of Dallas, TX, Murray (Janet) Bourgeois, Janice B. Singleton (Milton), and Aleta Doherty all of Laplace, LA, Sandra Clark of Gretna, LA, and Chanel and Daphne Thomas of Lutcher, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, as well as four Godchildren: Barbara Clayton, Tanisha Francois, and Waylon and Jade Frank.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie N. and Herman Clayton, Sr.; one brother, Lloyd Joseph Clayton; sister-in-law, Annabell Claiborne; brothers-in-law, Raymond Frank, Sr. and Wallace Frank, III, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Cecile and Wallace Frank, Jr.

Beverly, we love and miss you dearly.
